PT Belawan New Container Terminals, accompanied by KSOP Belawan and PT BKI visited TPK Koja on 5th August 2024 to conduct benchmarking study related to the process and procedure of the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) which was implemented in TPK Koja since 1st August 2016. VGM is a fairly new concept introduced in the maritime industry and container weight verification has now become a global requirement. No container is allowed to be loaded on board the ship unless its VGM has been declared by the shipper to the shipboard personnel and/or to port representatives.
